New Rules at a Glance! Amazon TIC Direct Verification
Time:2025-10-30 13:37:45

In recent years, the cross-border e-commerce industry has experienced rapid growth, and Amazon has progressively tightened its product compliance requirements for platform sellers. To assist sellers in achieving product compliance verification more efficiently and conveniently, Amazon has introduced a significant new regulation: Compliance for certain product categories must now undergo Direct Validation (DV) through Amazon-approved Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) agencies.

Amazon has been notifying affected sellers that failure to complete verification on time may result in product removal, impacting normal sales. Even if you have not yet received a notification, please wait patiently and stay informed. We also recommend consulting the relevant procedures in advance to ensure your compliance progress remains unaffected.

  1. What is TIC Direct Validation?

"Direct Verification" (DV) is a new mechanism launched by Amazon to enhance the safety and compliance transparency of products on the platform. It requires sellers to conduct product tests or verify existing reports through approved TIC agencies, and the compliance results will be directly submitted by the TIC agencies to Amazon. Sellers are no longer allowed to upload compliance documents on their own.

The core difference from traditional processes

Traditional Way

Direct Verification (DV)

Sellers need to search for a laboratory on their own to conduct the tests and obtain the reports

Testing or verification must be conducted through TIC agencies approved by Amazon

Sellers submit the compliance documents on their own in the backend

TIC agencies directly securely submit the verification results to the Amazon system

The authenticity and compliance of the documents are subject to review by Amazon, and the process is quite lengthy

Minimize risks such as report falsification and tampering while enhancing review efficiency

In short, Amazon has shifted the final compliance review authority from “self-certification by businesses” to “officially designated TIC agencies.”

Annotation:

1. Toy products are classified as“children's toys based on the following criteria:

  1. The age classification indicated on the product packaging specifies that the toy is intended for children.
  2. The product packaging, display, promotion, or advertising indicates that the product is suitable for children.
  3. Consumers generally perceive the product as intended for children.

2. European Union: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium.

It should be noted that the new regulations do not only apply to "newly listed products", but mainly affect "currently on-sale products". Many sellers have reported that they have received clear verification reminders on the "Manage Your Compliance" page recently. If they fail to handle it in time, the ASINs that have already been listed may face the risk of being removed - this is also the main reason why sellers in related categories have rushed to accelerate the TIC verification after the policy was implemented.

The Amazon compliance policies are becoming increasingly strict. Sellers need to adapt to the new mechanisms of the platform as soon as possible, choose an officially recognized TIC institution to complete the compliance verification, and ensure the smooth operation of their businesses.
